What is a job in Avro?

A job is a single service visit — a date, time, location, appointment type, and assigned technician. Jobs appear on the calendar, in the jobs list, and on the client's history.

Steps

Option A — From the calendar (recommended)

  1. Open Calendar in the left sidebar. You'll see a week view by default. Use the toolbar to switch to month or day view, or to jump forward and back in time.

  2. Click the "+ New event" button in the toolbar, or simply click and drag on an empty time slot to set the time. The quick-job dialog opens.

  3. Fill in the job details. Enter a title (e.g. "Initial consultation — 12 Park Rd"), pick the client, choose the appointment type, set the date and time, and assign a technician.

  4. Save. The job appears as a coloured chip on the calendar. The chip colour matches the appointment type you set up in Settings.

  5. Drag to reschedule. If the timing changes, drag the chip to a new slot. You can also drag it across days. Avro updates the job time automatically.

Option B — From the Jobs list

  1. Open Jobs in the left sidebar.
  2. Click "New job". The full job form opens, giving you access to additional fields like notes, files, and reminders.
  3. Fill in the details and save. The job appears in both the jobs list and the calendar.

A note on recurring jobs

Full recurring-job scheduling (daily, weekly, monthly repeats) is on the roadmap and will be available shortly after launch. For now, if you have a customer you see regularly, book each visit individually. You can set a reminder on the job so you don't forget to rebook.

Common questions

Can I add notes or files to a job? Yes. Open the job detail page (click the job in the list or on the calendar chip) and you'll see cards for Notes, Files, and Reminders.

Can I schedule a job without assigning it to a specific technician? Yes. Leave the technician field blank if the job is unassigned. It'll still appear on the calendar.

What's the coloured chip on the calendar? The colour matches the appointment type (set in Settings > Appointment types). It makes it easy to see at a glance what kind of job is booked on any given day.

Can I see all my team's jobs at once? Yes. The calendar shows all jobs by default. You can filter by technician using the toolbar if you want to see one person's schedule.
