What is a client in Avro?
A client is any person or organisation you do work for. Everything — jobs, invoices, quotes, and follow-up messages — is tied to a client record. You only need to create them once.
Steps
-
Go to Clients in the left sidebar. The clients list shows all your existing customers. It'll be empty when you're starting out.
-
Click "New client". The new client form opens.
-
Enter the contact name. This is the name that appears on invoices and correspondence — use whatever the customer recognises (e.g. "Jane Smith" or "Acme Property Management").
-
Add their contact details. Fill in the phone number, email address, and site address. The site address is the location where you'll be doing the work. Avro geocodes it in the background so it can show jobs on a map later.
-
Save the client. Hit "Save". You're taken straight to the client's detail page.
-
From the client page you can: book a new job, create a quote or invoice, view the full service history, and manage any ongoing service agreements.
Tips
Avro's follow-up system works best when clients have a phone number or email address on file — that's what gets used when Avro drafts a follow-up message. If a customer only has one contact method, that's fine; just make sure at least one is entered.
Common questions
Can I import clients in bulk? Bulk CSV import is not available in v1. If you connected Google Calendar or Gmail during onboarding, Avro will have attempted to match imported events and emails to create client records automatically. You can review any unmatched imports at Settings > Connectors > Unmatched.
What's a service agreement? A service agreement (sometimes called a recurring contract) is a record that a customer has an ongoing arrangement with you — for example, a quarterly service visit. It doesn't automatically create jobs; it's a reference record so you can see which customers are under contract.
Can two clients share the same address? Yes. This is common for strata or commercial buildings where multiple clients are associated with one site.
Can I edit a client's details after saving? Yes. Open the client record and click the edit button next to any field.
