The customer portal

What your customers see when they log in to their own Avro portal.

Overview

The customer portal is a separate, customer-facing website where your clients can log in to view their invoices, quotes, job history, and reports — all without needing to contact you directly. It's a professional self-service experience that saves you time answering "can you resend that invoice?" messages.

The portal is separate from your operator account. Your customers never see your Avro dashboard or any of your business settings.

How customers access the portal

Customers don't need to be "invited" — they log in using a magic link sent to their email address.

  1. Your customer visits the portal login page (you can share the URL with them or they can find the "Sign in" link on any invoice or quote they've received from you).
  2. They enter their email address and click "Send me a link".
  3. Avro emails them a one-time login link. They click it and they're in — no password required.
  4. The portal is scoped to their records only. A customer can only see their own invoices, quotes, and jobs — never another customer's.

What customers can do in the portal

Dashboard — A summary of open invoices, pending quotes, and recent jobs.

Invoices — View all invoices, see payment status, and pay outstanding invoices directly via Stripe (if you've connected your Stripe account). They can also download a PDF of any invoice.

Quotes — View quotes you've sent them. They can accept or decline a quote from here, with an optional reason if declining.

Jobs — A service history showing every job you've completed for them: date, service type, technician, and status. They can click through to see job details and download any reports that have been shared.

Profile — Update their own contact details (email and phone number). Changes sync back to their client record in your Avro account.

What customers cannot do

Customers cannot book new jobs through the portal. They cannot see any other customers' records. They cannot edit invoices or change prices.

Common questions

Do I need to do anything to set up the portal for my customers? No setup required on your end. The portal is available to all your clients automatically. They just need an email address on their client record in Avro so they can receive the login link.

What if a customer's email address changes? Update it in their client record (Clients > [Client name] > Edit). Their portal login email will update accordingly.

Can a customer see reports from their jobs? Yes, but only reports that have been finalised and are marked as "delivered". Draft reports are not visible in the portal.

Can I turn the portal off for a specific customer? Not currently. The portal is available to all clients who have an email address on file.
